The Southwest United States leads the world into the future with the first combination Solar-power generation/High-speed passenger rail system

This innovative public transportation concept will use free, non-polluting green energy from our greatest natural resource - the sun. The system is being designed to both generate electricity for nearby communities as well as the power needed for the transit vehicles. Our initial focus is on solving local commuter problems in and out of major cities. Extensions to this system will lead to high-speed passenger connections between Phoenix and Tucson and other major cities.

Travel between Phoenix, Tucson, Los Angeles or Las Vegas are all possible extensions to the system.

With the intent to be part of the solution and not the problem, the AZTransit team believes in the following vision.

The southwest has some of the broadest coverage area of high density solar exposure in the nation.  A system design that uses solar power as the primary energy source simply makes sense. Modular manufacturing technology matched with integrated aerospace technology makes available these features. Tourists will go out of their way to travel to the southwest to see its spectacular and accessible scenery as well as travel on its unique solar-powered high-speed rail systems. New businesses and residents will be attracted to the forward looking developments that will spring up along this new passenger-rail system. The system will dramatically reduce their dependence on imported oil and at the same time, minimize greenhouse gas emissions. To do this, all the necessary technology and equipment are currently available in Europe, Asia and here in Arizona. We look for this innovative concept and our application of our new “MotionSolar” energy storage and control methodology to give Arizona, Nevada and California a tourism, employment and technological edge in the future. With a target price of $5 - $8 Million a mile ,it would give us a system with the technology and features we need today with a cost we can handle.

Can it work? Actually it will work just fine. The technology is sound. Have you driven a hybrid car? Now consider the fact that with a fixed known path, the weight of the hybrid energy storage system (supercap/battery mix) can be moved from inside the vehicle to outside the vehicle. Now add modern aerospace fuselage technology to reduce the weight. Then consider removing the power conversions and transmission losses by using local high voltage HVDC instead of non green friendly AC (see Joint Strike Fighter and Space Station) then you easily start to see how we can close the technology gaps. Also by having the "linear power-plant" security, robotic cleaning and maintenance of the panels can be achieved more effectively. Not a far stretch at all.  Our new “MotionSolar” technology is aligned to break these problems down. Think about it, a construction project that starts generating revenue & electricity right after the first mile is constructed!
